Reviews

Oct 2014 "We had a lovely week at the Parlour. The cottage was just as we remembered, comfortable, well equipped – a real pleasure to stay in. The welcome pack is a lovely idea and we enjoyed all the goodies. This was our second visit and we plan to book again next year if possible. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the animals are great too – Tess is a very laid back guard dog! We’ll be sorting out our holidays for 2015 in the next couple of months and will be in touch to make a further booking."

July 2014 "We had a really delightful holiday at the Parlour, everything was superb, even the Weather."

August 2013 " Great week on the farm - we loved the peaceful surroundings. It is an ideal location....Hope to be back again."

Aug 2011
"We have just returned from a few days staying at the Parlour. The cottage was delightful, comfortable and spacious. Our hosts were generous and friendly and we would love to have stayed longer. We plan to return."

May 2011
"It was only a three night stay and we wished it could have been a lot longer. The welcome was warm and genuine. The welcome pack of goodies thoughtful and of high quality including local quality dairy products. The accommodation was not only 'exactly what it said on the tin' but truly delightful with an outstanding outlook across green fields to the far Clee Hills.

It was so quiet with the clucking of the delightful chickens being one of the few sounds noticeable. Everything within the Parlour worked well and was very comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was perhaps the best equipped of any cottage we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot). We tend to cook rather than eat out so a well equipped kitchen is essential.

Information about the cottage and about the local area was outstanding. Up to date menus for eating destinations, all sampled and commented on by the owners (which will benefit many if not ourselves). Every contact with the owners was delightful informative and helpful. Next time we need to be in that area it is certainly The Parlour which will get our custom."

"We had a very good holiday. The cottage was tip-top, and set in beautiful surroundings."

August 2010
"We had a really good stay at The Parlour - the cottage was lovely and we really appreciated the little touches and hospitality from Mary and Caroline - the food basket and fresh bread/biscuits, and the fact that Mary came to find us and our baby when we were caught out in the rain on the way back from the local pub! We'd definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks to you and Charles for your efficient handling of our booking too."

About The Parlour

Situated a few miles from Ludlow, on the Shropshire / Herefordshire borders, The Parlour is an immaculate conversion of farm outbuilding, where the cows used to be milked, in a courtyard setting with another property, The Barn, beside the owners own beautiful Farmhouse. Set in the owner's 165 acres of beautiful organic farmland, it is the perfect spot for birdwatching, relaxing or exploring the countryside. Bircher Common is a short walk away from here you may also join the Mortimer Trail with over 2000 miles of rights of way under foot it is ideal for walking and cycling.

This whole area is also wonderful horse riding country with miles of bridleways away from any main roads. For those of you who want to bring your own horses we can provide stabling at the farm for up to 6 horses at any time at a small extra cost. The nearby small village of Orleton has a couple of excellent pubs in walking distance. There are several towns a short drive away Ludlow, Leominster, Hereford and Tenbury Wells, all with historic interest.
