Reviews

December 2016 "A family gathering, 4 "siblings plus spouses", on a pre-Christmas get-together. I think this was the 8th time we have met thus; all were in agreement that the combination of location, en-suite bedrooms and a very well-equipped house will be hard to beat.

A friendly welcome, any extra kit needed readily to hand, amiable dogs for the dog lovers to schmooze with; we all had a great time! If we can persuade the London-dwelling pair to book a day off and leave early on the Friday (they had a bad experience of the M40) I think we'll be back.... "

August 2016 "We had an excellent holiday at The Barn and were very happy with the accommodation and contact with the owners............"

August 2016 "We enjoyed our week with you so much. We were sad to leave, there was everything we needed in The Barn. All the best quality bedding crockery toileteries etc and a lovely cake waiting for us. the boys loved the farm. Mary took them with her at feed time a few times. The boys loved the dogs. Would recommend it to anybody. I will give it 10+out of 10"

December 2015 "Super place, spacious and extremely well fitted out , especially the kitchen. Comfortable and cosy. Owners on site very helpful. couldn’t have wanted for anything"

November 2015 "It was perfect - need I say more! Beautiful house - bedrooms all en suite, clean, fresh and tidy. Beds really comfy - nice linen. Lovely setting - despite the rain! Funny dogs. And - most importantly Caroline - what a lovely lady. So friendly and welcoming. (Great cake too!!). We had a great family break. Would gladly recommend."

October 2015 "We had a great stay at The Barn - it was the perfect location for our family get together. The fresh flowers and delicious home baked scones were a lovely welcome and Mary was a fount of local knowledge and even took us to see their newborn calf.

The quality of the fittings and furnishings in the bedrooms and livings areas was very high and the kitchen was equipped with everything we might need. The fact that every bedroom was ensuite was a bonus............ The countryside surrounding the farm is delightful and we did a lovely 4 mile circular walk which included a visit to Croft Castle (NT). Highly recommended!"

August 2015 "We- all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barn. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and everything we could need was provided for.

The children especially loved being on a working farm and they loved feeding the pigs etc., We all commented on how comfortable the beds were – all in all a very interesting and relaxing time. If we were in the area again we would not hesitate to book the Barn again."

February 2015 "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Barn and would happily recommend it to others. The property was very well presented and the welcome pack good....."

November 2014 "Just a quick note to say how impressed we were with the Barn. The building was so clean and well organised. There wasn't anything else we could have needed, every time we looked for something it was there. It was almost too warm, I had worried that such a large space upstairs without a stove might be cold, but we kept having to turn the thermostat down because we were so hot. It was marvellous to have ensuite with each room so there were no queues for the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and beautifully set up with bedding. The fresh flowers in each room was a lovely touch as was the very generous welcome pack of bread, cake, fresh butter, milk, crisps, juices and home made marmalade. The owners were very helpful when my daughter arrived and needed a ladder to put up banners and balloons for my husband's birthday. I would recommend this property to my friends and hope to be able to use it again."

October 2014 "We all had a wonderful week at the Barn. Lovely clean well equipped property in a great location near a village with two pubs and a shop. The welcome food pack was a great bonus. Hope to return soon."

Sept 2014 "Thank you. We had a lovely weeks holiday at The Barn. The house is very well equipped and a great location. The owners were very friendly and helpful"

July 2014 "We were delighted with our four-night stay at The Barn. The quality and extent of the appointments was quite remarkable and it was clear the owners had gone to a great deal of trouble to provide anything – and more – that could reasonably be expected of a holiday let. The generous welcome pack was much appreciated and indicative of efforts to go the extra mile to please, while the proprietors were kindness themselves. No improvements needed. Heartily recommended."

May 2014 "We were delighted to stay in The Barn bank holiday w/e.Booking on line was efficient. Emails to both the office in Leominster and to Caroline were friendly and efficient. I was delighted to find The Barn furnished to such a high spec. - not only furnishings, but kitchen equipment, flowers in living room and bedrooms, good quality liquid hand soap (appreciated by my son-in-law and daughter-in-law). Also the owner had a very relaxed attitude - these don't often go together!

We arrived much later than expected, but this was no problem - and our ordered groceries had not only been taken into the house for us, but put away in cupboards and fridge. A real service! We were glad to meet Caroline and chat with her before we left. Certainly a place to recommend to friends wanting a family get-together in an interesting area. I can't think of any suggestions for improvement - and am usually quite critical!"

March 2014 "We had a very pleasant long weekend in what was very well comfortable accommodation. We were given an enthusiastic welcome and well looked after.."

Feb 2014 "We had an excellent break here at this comfortable and very well equipped property. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and the welcome hamper was exceptional! The house is warm and cosy, the beds are very comfortable with quality bedding and towels. Although we were only two couples, there was ample room and equipment for the house to be full. The many thoughtful little extras provided throughout were much appreciated. We also very much appreciated the addition of the wifi, as without it we would not have been able to come away, due to work and home commitments. Excellent administration and clear and helpful information provided beforehand."

September 2013 "We could not have had a more warmer welcome. It was very touching to know the person welcoming us had made the effort to memorise our names to make the welcome more personal. the barn itself was incredibly equipped for everything and the beds were extremely comfortable. It was lovely to have the farm animals namely the dogs and the wonderful cats greet us as well, especially henry the ginger cat. we had a wonderful peaceful holiday and would highly recommend anybody to go. The food hamper that was left for us as well was especially welcome. Wonderful holiday. Cannot praise it enough."

August 2013 "The accommodation is superbly furnished with quality linen and toiletries in the en suites. Comprehensive kitchen equipment. TV in each room with a TV, DVD and CD player in the lounge Owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Some discussion about who should take home the puppy ‘Wiggly’. She is still at The Barn. All the dogs are very friendly. The welcome pack was a welcome surprise and of the highest quality including as well as the basics, home made scones and bread together with Mary’s marmalade.Further eggs, bread etc were available to buy at a reasonable price The comprehensive Information Pack gave details of places to visit, walks and eating places.... Highly recommend The Barn... 8 of us stayed in the 4 roomed barn conversion all set in beautiful countryside on a working farm. You do need a car unless you are good walkers as the Barn is at the end of a lane which is nearly a mile long and Orleton is another 1 to 2 miles"

December 2012 "The best place we've stayed in by far. Ideal for all our family and greatly exceeded expectations - Caroline was most helpful and the place was beautifully decorated for Christmas."

Nov 2012 "We had a wonderful time at the barn , We only saw Caroline the once as she was very busy but Mary was wonderful very helpful and informative about the area and the weather, the weather was quite bad but we managed to get about quite easily, would recommend and will recommend the barn to everyone, we all noted the attention to detail and appreciated all their efforts, we hope to return some time. "

Sep 2012 " We were very impressed with the quality of the accommodation, the welcome pack and in particular the welcome and friendliness of the owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

June 2012 "It was a great holiday - very nice accommodation with all the necessities, and very friendly owners who took time to show the children around the farm, and rescued our friends from the floods in their landrover."

June 2012 "The Barn was great - very high standard - and the welcome basket was an unexpected but much appreciated treat.

We'd recommend it - and may well return!"

June 2012 "Excellent property with very friendly and helpful owners.

We have stayed in many holiday lets over the years but the Barn has been one of the best. We were very impressed and surprised at the many things provided for. Top marks to the owners."

April 2012 "...We had a brilliant holiday at the The Barn and I would not hesitate to recommend the property to others. The holiday cottage is amazingly well equipped, and is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished throughout. The photos really don't do it justice! We had 5 children with us and they loved having the opportunity to feed the lambs and calves, and to look at all the animals on the farm. Caroline and her parents were very welcoming and answered the children's endless questions with much patience!
All in all an excellent holiday and we'd love to return some day. Thanks!"

April 2012 "The Barn is a fabulous property, very well finished and well equipped. The owners are lovely, made us feel very welcome."

Oct 2011 "We had a fantastic weekend at The Barn, a lovely peaceful location to really relax. The freshly baked loaf of bread and cake were really nice touches - very homely and welcoming. The snooker table was a brilliant bonus which we used lots! I would recommend The Barn very highly, the only thing I would say is that the photographs on the website simply don't do it justice - it is far bigger and more luxurious than it looks! All in all it was the perfect location to celebrate my 30th birthday with family and friends."

Dec 2010 "lovely people, beautiful place, everything we could possibly wish for. Can't think of anything that could be improved to be honest...apart from the weather which wasn't that bad anyway! It was a really nice touch to have food there on arrival and Caroline had even baked a cake for my friend's birthday which was really sweet.

They did ask if there was anything they could do to make the place more baby friendly but to be honest it was fine. The stable door in the kitchen kept the littlies away from the stairs and there was a high chair so that was good. A cot would be useful but not essential. Otherwise it was good.

Top marks! Thanks to them and to you for arranging."

Aug 2010 "We all enjoyed the stay very much and were very impressed with the well equipped accommodation. Mary and Caroline made us most welcome and all the little extras were much appreciated. The boys were very happy in the games room!"
